Seaglass Ocean and Moon Ring

This unique ring has a texture that has been created by heating the silver to boiling point, making a lovely surface that is reminiscent of the moon. Then pieces of aqua Seaglass are set into this luna surface creating a stunning contrast. A ring that is edgy, tactile and beautiful. A uniquely handmade item which captures both the romance of the moon and the ocean. I learned this interesting technique of silversmithing in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter in the UK where I trained. The ring is 9mm wide. Made from Sterling Silver. Gold is electroplated on top of the sterling silver. We use 18 karat gold that is a minimum of 2.5 microns to create a finish that is five times thicker and more durable than average gold plating.
