Originally a travel agent, Lisa’s wanderlust took her on many global adventures. On a trip to the French surf coast and Biarritz, the merchandise manager for Quiksilver Europe stopped her on the beach to ask about the jewellery she was wearing. She went on to secure her brand Mamo Jo in partnership across 120 Quiksilver Boardrider Stores in Europe. This meant moving to Bali and creating her team and the jewellery to supply Quiksilver, and other stores which later included her own retail stores in The Rocks and Bondi Beach in Sydney. After 10 years of endless summers, Lisa moved to the UK to have a family and opened another store in Warwick, England. Lisa is now based in Avoca Beach, North of Sydney and her designs are available globally via this store.
Lisa pieces are designed with ethical sensitivity and respect for the environment.
“I love what I do and I love that it helps my second family in Bali. Global consciousness has always been an ethos of my work, and I am proud to say that my incredible team of artisans have been with me for 20 years and are very special to me. Our production facility in Bali “Rumah Bunga” or “Flower House” has always operated in a way that benefits the local community as well as the workers and their families.”
“The pandamic has hit Bali hard and my team have been hungry to work. I have not been able to travel there, so this collection has been designed by me here and demonstrated remotely. I have made prototypes and trained staff via video where needed. It has been empowering for the team and we are all excited to launch these new designs. We hope you love them as much as we do, and we thank you for choosing to support this brand.”
